THE CASCADE OF GAIRAUT
This magnificent fall of artificial water commemorates the arrival of water in Nice in 1883 from Saint-Jean-la-Rivière in Vésubie. The waterfall is topped by an alpine-inspired alpine chalet. The site, also made up of false caves with stalactites, was prized at the Belle Époque. Nowadays, there is a romantic and privileged promenade of the International from where you enjoy a magnificent panorama of the city. The Gairaut canal, situated not far from that which stretches about 1,7 km, is adorned with small stone bridges over its length: The joggers train all year round on the path that runs along the trail while others go leisurely with family or friends in the shade of the trees. Today, the cascade site is used for the oxygenation of water generated by pumping before its distribution in the city. Note that the Gairaut waterfall has a twin line in the Alpes-Maritimes: on the town of Grasse, the waterfall of the Foulon Canal looks like… like two drops of water!

Members' reviews on THE CASCADE OF GAIRAUT
The ratings and reviews below reflect the subjective opinions of members and not the opinion of The Little Witty.
