Old Nice is dotted with souvenir stores and stalls showcasing local crafts...

The old town tells the story of Nice's medieval past with its monuments, its baroque palaces, its narrow streets, the light ochre of its facades, its typical colored shutters, its merchants who call out to each other in the local language and its crazy nightlife. Eminently picturesque, it is characterized by its multi-story arches that span the streets, its staircases connecting different levels, its winding alleys, its plazas and its restaurant terraces. Built in the 16th and 17th centuries, rehabilitated in the 1950's and now enhanced, it remains a moving testimony of the past.

Dotted with souvenir, art and clothing stores, stalls showcasing local handicrafts, spices, scented candles and the scents of the Midi, the old town of Nice is also the ideal place to have a drink or lunch on a terrace, to find restaurants with secret rooms, to try out Côte d'Azur specialties, to try out a few gastronomic establishments and to relax over a beer in the evening in a pub.

Every morning, the Cours Saleya welcomes the famous flower, fruit and vegetable market under its colorful tents, which fill the air with a pleasant and fragrant sweetness. Mondays are the day of the antique dealers and other second-hand goods dealers. This essential street lined with bars and restaurants embodies the soul of the city and allows visitors to taste local specialties such as Socca, pissaladière, fougasse and other breadsticks.
