LA FÊTE DE LA ROSE
Craft market, rose water distillation, rose jam tasting and May rose picking in the fields.
The centifolia rose, or rose of May, was widely cultivated in the region, especially in Opio. That's why the town celebrates this flower on the third weekend in May, during the Rose Festival. Craft market, open-air mass, traditional dances, cookery workshop, horse-drawn carriage rides, rosewater distillation, rose jam tasting... Participants also take to the fields in procession to pick the centifolia rose, also known as the hundred-leaf rose, in reference to its large number of petals.
