Another way to discover the hinterland of Nice on the way to the Alps. A wonderful journey departing from Nice with Chemins de Fer de Provence and an autorail that takes you through the hills of the Niçois country before heading up the Var valley. Connect with the Train des Pignes steam train at Puget-Théniers, then head for Entrevaux for a leap back in time aboard the valiant E211 "Portuguese" steam locomotive. The trip runs only from May to October, on Sundays out of season, and on Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays in July and August.
