CHÂTEAU DES GRANGES
Defensive castle with moats and loopholes, a large room inside has two magnificent fireplaces.
For the history, Durand Fradet, lord of the Barns who was squire, adviser and host master of Louis XI, lived in this castle in 1468. The defensive aspects of the building are marked with moats and loopholes. During a visit of the interior, one lingers in the great hall, which has two impressive fireplaces. After the Revolution, the Château des Granges was transformed into a farm. Today it belongs to the Roustan family, who have set up the Atelier des Granges, specialising in handcrafted solid parquet flooring.
