LE PONT DE FRANCE
Historic link between the two banks of the Estéron. The Pont de France, built in the century, links La Roque to Roquestéron.
It is the historic link between the two banks of the Estéron. In 1760, the Treaty of Turin united Savoy with France. The Pont de France, built in the 18thcentury , now marks the border between the kingdoms of France and Sardinia. It also links La Roque to Roquestéron. At the time, boundary markers symbolized this separation. They were marked with the French lily on one side and the Savoy cross on the other. Don't miss the reproduction of one of these markers on the Pont de France.
