A beautiful residence on the French Riviera, with a patio, a terrace and thematic gardens with a superb tea room
A witness to the grandeur of the Belle Époque, it is one of the most beautiful residences on the French Riviera. Inspired by the great Renaissance buildings of Venice and Florence, the house is currently being renovated to restore its facades to their original ochre hue. It features a dozen salons with furniture and decorative elements of great refinement as well as an extraordinary collection of porcelain and works of art. The patio - with its marble columns - and the grand salon - with its large opening to the sea - are truly magnificent. Walking through the thematic gardens, you will pass from one continent, century and civilization to another: French, Japanese, Spanish, Florentine, Provençal, exotic, lapidary, beautiful rose garden (to be seen in May and June) and Sèvres garden. From the promontories, you can overlook the spectacular bay of Villefranche with only the murmur of the fountains. Musical evenings and night tours are organized from time to time. Brunch is offered in the superb tea room set up in the former dining room of Béatrice Ephrussi de Rothschild, who wanted her villa to remain a place of reception and sharing when she bequeathed it to the commune. In the kitchen, the chef delicately prepares simple dishes that are as elegant as the place in which she officiates. When the weather is fine, you can sit under the orange trees on the terrace. A real enchantment.
