A customs path linking Beaulieu to Villefranche-sur-Mer, leading to pretty beaches such as Passable, Port...
Linking Beaulieu to Villefranche-sur-Mer, the Sentier des Douaniers winds its way unobtrusively through the limestone cliffs to the Cap-Ferrat lighthouse, built in 1828 by the Sardinians and rebuilt in 1951 after the Second World War. The well-maintained path winds its way over the waves to a number of pretty beaches.
Plage de Passable: coming from Villefranche, this beach is ideal for families. Wide and deep, it faces west and, in season, a private beach occupies a third of its surface.
Anse des Fosses and Anse des Fossettes: ideal for cooling off. Anse des Fosses has turquoise water and pebbles and sand. It's often crowded in summer, while Anse des Fossettes is more secluded and quieter.
Plage de la Paloma: towards Pointe Saint-Hospice, this beach offers a beautiful view of the mountains, sheltered from the mistral. Part of the beach is reserved for a prestigious establishment for five months of the year.
Plage du port: heading towards the headland, just past the marina, a wide east-facing beach lets you take full advantage of the morning sun while remaining close to the shops and restaurants of Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat.
Baie des Fourmis: once you've reached the end of the trail, at Beaulieu, this is the ultimate opportunity to enjoy the sea, while recovering on the partly privatized sandy beach, which serves excellent meals. The setting is magnificent, lined with umbrella pines.
