SAINT-PAUL'S CHURCH-COLLÉGIALE
Church restored and enlarged under the impulse of the bishop of Vence, containing relics from the catacombs of Rome
The church, built in the 12th and 13th centuries, was restored and enlarged in the 17th century under the impetus of the Bishop of Vence - one of the founding members of the French Academy - who elevated it to the rank of collegiate church. The altar of Saint Catherine of Alexandria, whose portrait is attributed to the painter Coello, and the chapel of Saint Clement date from this period. The latter contains relics from the catacombs of Rome. It is a true jewel of Baroque art.
