SAORGE MONASTERY
A remarkable site testifying to the baroque architecture in the Roya Valley, organizing cultural events
This former Franciscan convent is a remarkable testimony of the baroque architecture in the Roya valley. Built on the heights of Saorge, it is now a museum and a writing retreat site managed by the Centre des monuments nationaux, in which many cultural events are organized. The church of Notre-Dame-des-Miracles, built in the 17th century, consists of a single nave flanked by four remarkable side chapels. You can also visit the terraced garden, the vegetable garden and the pergola.
