A circuit to explore Sospel and its washhouses, listed fountains, trompe-l'œil facades and ancient ramparts
Sospel is well worth a visit on foot. Follow the map available at the tourist office and wander through the typical narrow streets of this hilltop village. This easy 2.5 km circuit is ideal for families. You'll pass a number of pretty fountains, before admiring the Pont-Vieux bridge over the Bévéra. The Penitent chapels and the majestic Place Saint-Michel with its Baroque cathedral are the highlights of this hour-and-a-half walk. A pleasant journey back in time through a charming medieval village awaits you.
