LES LACS GLACIAIRES DE LA VALLÉE DE LA HAUTE ROYA
Go there and contact
Two thousand years ago, the upper part of the valley was covered with glaciers. They eroded the rocky funds and dug cavities where the rock was more tender. It followed the creation of a multitude of glacial mountain lakes, the smallest of which have a diameter of only ten meters and the largest of which can reach one kilometer long. Paradise of campers, hikers and fishermen, these lakes freeze in early November. They cover snow and become accessible in June. There are fifty-fifty of them: Basto, Agnel, Green, Black, Moute, Long, Fourca, Saorgino, Carbon, Vallaurette, Rochers, Basto, Grenouilles, Mont-Sainte-Marie, Casterino, Valmask, Merveilles, the Twins. All of them are of a moving beauty and are seen in a raw nature. Almost all require one at several hours walking through mule paths or paths.
