CHAPEL OF THE WHITE PENITENTS
This chapel has delicate 15th century frescoes by Baleïson.
The chapel is located below the collegiate church and was built in the 17th century. The facade of this chapel of the White Penitents, a religious order that was in charge of the sick, caring for them until their last resting place, is austere but it contains an admirable Baroque altarpiece whose frame is in polychrome carved wood and the central painting represents the Annunciation. The old oratory is covered with 15th century frescoes. Just opposite is a chapel of the Black Penitents, along the Nisso Ligure road. It features a 19th century organ with bellows and pipes. The other chapel of the Pénitents Blancs is in the rue de France, it presents delicate 15th century frescoes by Baleïson.
