CASTLE - TOWN HALL
Castle belonging to the de Villeneuve family, which became the city hall, the floor houses rooms for exhibitions
The de Villeneuve family had the present château built in 1430 and kept it until 1789. Abandoned in the 18th century, sold as national property, then looted, degraded and partly ruined, the château has little left of its former splendor, except for its superb Louis XIII baluster staircase (restored in the 20th century) and the belfry tower. Bought back to save this beautiful heritage, the building now serves as the town hall on three floors. The second floor houses 3 beautiful rooms where contemporary art exhibitions are held throughout the year.
