Chapel with view from the roof, where you can admire the chasubles and Henri Matisse's preparatory work with sketches and models
The Chapelle du Rosaire (also known as the Chapelle Matisse) was designed and decorated by Henri Matisse for the Dominican sisters. He devoted himself entirely to it between 1948 and 1951. It is the architectural work that synthesizes his research and contributes to the renewal of sacred art. The Dominicans welcome you with guided tours of the building's history. Upstairs, you can admire the chasubles and contemplate an unparalleled view of La Chapelle's roof. Finally, discover Henri Matisse's preparatory work: sketches, models..
