Since 2005, the Baumettes castle houses a contemporary art centre that offers for everyone; internships and practical arts workshops all year round. The site regularly organises various temporary exhibitions with free access. We will note the beauty of the site built in a neopalladian style around the late nineteenth century. After World War II, the castle lost its residential vocation. A project to create a home for children came up in 1949: it will be realised in 1964 when the caisse d'allocations des Alpes-de-Haute-Provence bought the estate. In 1991, the whole became communal property and a school was setup in the modern annex. The castle on its part, will now only be occupied occasionally.
