The Site-Memorial of the Camp des Milles, a former French internment and deportation camp, offers a year-round permanent exhibition on 15,000m2, in three parts, enriched by other exhibitions: 1942-1944: 11,400 Jewish children deported from France to Auschwitz; Saving the Children 1938-1945; From the Camp des Milles to Auschwitz, the spiral towards the abyss; and the Hall of Mural Paintings. Also not to be missed from July1 to September 30 is the temporary exhibition Fragments or the transmission of the memory of the Shoah. So many opportunities to discover or rediscover the history of the Camp des Milles and the horrors of the war. Located in Aix-en-Provence, the site also offers in the middle of the summer visits and workshops specifically for children and teenagers: a visit to unravel the mysteries of the Hall of Murals or the creation of an imaginary suite based on the work Les Apatrides by Max Ernst.
