This former fortified castle of the Lords of Bourbon is a museum with some twenty rooms recounting the history of the Gannat region from prehistory to the Second World War, the centerpiece of which is a priceless Carolingian gospel. There are also temporary exhibitions such as, in 2024, "En Voiture Simone". The originator of this popular expression, Simone Louise des Forest, was a rally car driver between 1930 and 1957, who ran a driving school in Gannat from 1950 to 1975.
