Authentic and original cuisine in a restaurant with terrace, with a tropical and musical atmosphere, in Marseille.

A small tropical corner in the sunniest part of the Phocaean city. Who has never fallen in love with this pretty little terrace, next to the one of the restaurant "le Refuge", and who has never begun to wiggle their hips when they hear the music that has been caressing our ears since Marafiki? A real little haven of good mood and sunshine on the plate. Dishes with varied influences, from the islands to the African continent. Lots of fish, cooked with coconut milk or Congolese style, veal kebabs Kinoise style, Marafiki salad and for dessert, mango in all its forms. A beautiful address where you can enjoy an authentic and original cuisine at the same time

The waiting time is tooooo long, the waitress (who also happens to be the owner??) simply couldn’t be bothered. And it’s not the first time. Definitely never going back.

Gostamos. O dourado estava perfeito. A lula também estava boa. Decoração africana muito bonita. Os pratos demoraram um pouco, mas o atendimento foi bom e simpático.

Okay but could be so much better. Location is very nice and vibe. However as for food I was not that impressed, it was nice but not nice enough for the price they were charging. Very overpriced in my opinion. Flavours are more like simple home cooking. Certainly not £25 a main. The jollof rice wasn’t that good and the squid neither. None of the vegetables were fully cooked. Lots of plain tomatoey flavours. The fish soup was nice but also expensive and small portion. The lamb was nice though but again expensive. Wait was quite long for food and then the restaurant had a mix up with our bill which took ages to sort out. Toilet was also very very dirty with pee all over seat and place. And tableware was broken and mismatched. It wasn’t presented well. If you are going for a authentic shanty vibe maybe that’s okay, but with the price they’re charging I would expect much much more from the establishment.
