For 60 years, this fish restaurant has been delighting young and old alike in Marseille! Grilled, in bouillabaisse, in bourride, happiness.

L'Esplai du Grand Bar des Goudes has been delighting young and old alike for over 60 years! In October 2023, the Tani family, who have run the restaurant for over twenty years, have announced that they will be passing the torch to the Grotte de Callelongue team. The takeover of the restaurant will in no way change the DNA of the place, since chef Bengamin Mathieu will perpetuate what has made L'Esplai such a success. Bouillabaisse, bourride and a seafood-oriented menu. We love the room facing the port.

Sin vous voulez manger du bon poisson c'est cic qu'il faut venir. Attention il vaut mieux réserver. Accueil chaleureux, vue merveilleuse sur le port des goudes. venir et revenir !

Arrival at 5, by chance, without reservation, we were charmingly welcomed. Staff are attentive, friendly and authentic! We ordered a bourride (a delight, fish goûtus, tasty stock, a beautiful presentation and a considerable amount!), stuffed seafood and monkfish. Beautiful and very good cuisine. We had the dead end on the dessert, much to our regret when we saw the gourmet coffee! For lunch on the terrace in November, by overlooking a small picturesque harbor, while enjoying delicious cuisine themselves and spending a moment of friendliest, than to want for? The bill was completely correct and the digestive offered! Restaurant to be discovered absolutely (recommendation almost back-plate so we would like to keep this small pearl for us!).
