AUBERGE DE L’IMPOSSIBLE * *
Easy access hostel with free private parking and spa-sauna
Having stayed a few years ago in this house at the entrance to Briançon (on the road to Grenoble), the Petit Futé can say that the Auberge de l'Impossible has changed a lot. And when we say "well", we mean that the change has been for the better! In this small, easily-accessible house, just off the road and away from the hustle and bustle of the resorts, it's easy to stop off before extending your stay, because you'll feel so at home. Free private parking, so you don't have to worry about parking and you can relax completely after a busy day. At the foot of the Serre-Chevalier slopes (5 minutes by car from the Chantemerle or Prorel gondolas), the Auberge de l'Impossible opens its spa-sauna every day from 4pm to 10pm. Relaxation guaranteed before discovering another of the house's delights: the restaurant. Here too, things have changed and everything is more refined, more subtle, more delicious. From the layout of the plate to the quality of the ingredients, this cuisine strives for excellence, and residents can enjoy mountain specialities and traditional dishes such as blanquette de veau, lasagne, a plate of tourtons or tiramisu. The well-composed breakfast buffet provides a good start to the day after a peaceful night's sleep in renovated rooms that combine mountain spirit with modern comfort. Recommended by Le Petit Futé.
