ÉTANG DE PIROT
This pond, owned by the NFB, is one of the largest ponds in the country of Tronçais. Created from 1842 to 1852 on the Marmande river, it has been designed to serve as a huge reservoir for the Berry Canal. To strengthen this water supply, a small gabarit, called Laugh, was built to link it to the Ghoul Pond that had the Same Purpose. Its 94 hectares make it a fisherman's paradise, the species there are numerous: roach, rotengle, carp, cunner, bream for cyprinidae. Perch, pike, perch for predators. There are no catfish, but perch. Local fishermen are mainly fishing at the ressort for carp and use clear and sticky primers. The left bank offers a beautiful beach monitored in season. To offer a beautiful overview, the circle of fishermen is the ideal place.
