BUREAU DE TOURISME DE LA VALLEE DE LA CLAREE
This preserved valley offers the most beautiful natural spaces for the walker
For all those who prefer simplicity, this preserved valley is a small paradise. This classified site offers the most beautiful natural spaces for walkers: It's the beautiful D 994 G that follows it closely, towards Névache, but walkers can see it high on the GR 5. The valley of the Valley is known to the whole of France since Emilie Carles, native of Val-des-Prés, made her known in her wild herb soup. At the same time, it became one of the laboratories in the new French cross-country skiing, in its full nature version and "no traces or tags".
Today, it is a set of about 3,000 beds and 80 km of northern slopes maintained from La Decorative to Névache. But it is still a natural area, about 20 km from the upstream De. By car, or why not walk along the road, you go to Val-des-Prés, after a possible hook by Les Alberts, for its bread oven, its church Saint-Antoine and its solar dials, then to Plampinet and its frescoes of the church of San Sebastian, the chapel Notre-Dame-des-Graces, to the many remarkable works. Then comes Névache and its church Saint-Marcellin: Founded at the end of the th century, this church has the particularity of being built on the ruins of a former castle, of which it uses one of the towers as a bell, in what was once the cachots of the castle, one can admire a collection of sacred art. A mountain show of all beauty, from 1,500 m altitude, from Névache to the 2,000 m of the chalets of Laval. On the way, we follow the GR 5 summer and admire fabulous points of view, especially near the cottages of the Verney: waterfalls, views of lakes and ridges follow to the road terminus. You can then go on a mountain hike to Round Lake and the Rochilles camp - 2,493 m - at the border of the two departments of the Upper Alps and Savoy, you can find the GR 57 or the road along the Route Pass.
