ALPINE BOTANICAL GARDEN OF LAUTARET
A 2-hectare conservatory garden, perched at an altitude of 2,100 m, with 2,000 flamboyantly colored plant species.
Created in 1899 by Professor Jean-Paul Lachmann of the University of Grenoble, this alpine garden is a jewel appreciated by 20,000 visitors per year. Three guided tours are organized every day to discover this grandiose conservation site perched at an altitude of 2,100 m, in the privileged setting of the Meije glaciers. Its 2,000 plant species come from all the mountains of the world. An explosion of flamboyant colors on 2 hectares of landscaping. Sublime.
