Old sawmill in Lavoine, being demonstrated, and fed by water from a nearby pond.

Don't leave Lavoine without visiting the reconstitution of the old sawmill a few hundred meters from the Maison du Bois et de la Forêt. It was built with local materials according to traditional techniques: lime slabs, log frame, cladding and roofing with canal tiles. The sawmill is fed by water from a nearby pond, also artificially recreated. You may have the chance to see a demonstration. A very successful reconstruction!
