PUY DE MONTONCEL
Puy placed in the forest domain of Bois-Noirs, offering a panoramic view on the Bourbonnaise Mountain and the Forez Mountains.
At 1,287 metres, it is the highest point in the department. Situated in the Bois-Noirs forest estate, from its summit the panoramic view extends over the Bourbonnaise Mountain, the Limagne plain and the Forez and Livradois mountains. In summer, the mild, even cool weather is ideal for discovering the hidden treasures of the fauna and flora. In winter, the forty-seven kilometers of marked paths become cross-country ski trails around the Foyer du Montoncel, which also offers many other outdoor activities in all seasons.
