Cathedral-Basilica of Saint Anne in Apt, with relics and the treasure of Saint Anne, including 2 exceptional pieces.

The Sainte-Anne Cathedral-Basilica is one of the oldest in Provence and the most remarkable monument of the city. Since the construction of the primitive church on Merovingian crypts its architecture has been enhanced on several occasions. In the 17th century, the royal chapel was built in honour of Anne of Austria who came on pilgrimage to thank her patron saint for the birth of Louis XIV. The basilica houses relics and the treasure of St. Anne, an ornate linen vestment of honour, as the Caliphs often offered.
