LE COLONIAL
Restaurant with terrace offers a cuisine that revisits local products with spices at small prices.
Zen, refined, gourmet, Le Colonial has undeniable assets on the Place des Corps-Saints – the place to be in Avignon. Olivier Laplaud, known for his Balthazar right next door, and one of his childhood friends, Mathieu Reboul, created Le Colonial in summer 2016. A winning tandem that has a common taste for trips and Thai cuisine! So, we taste a cuisine that revisits the local products with spices - coriander, lemongrass, bergamot, ginger, green curry, which gives the menu a pork tenderloin, marinated with red curry, a Thai basil, deglazed with orange and kumbawa, a cod fillet roasted with galanga, peanuts, mashed sweet potatoes, green curry. We give a very good mention for the rice divinely cooked. The products are fresh, it is an almost dietetic cuisine, without fat, butter or cream. We will not overlook the desserts or gourmet coffee with mini-pastry and desserts to taste everything! We also like the discreet service, the pretty colourful tableware, the pleasant and cosy setting, the terrace and the reasonable prices.
