Avignon is home to Biosphoto, a photo library specialising in nature, the environment and gardens. Founded in 1987, Biosphoto is committed to the environment, establishing partnerships with NGOs such as WWF-International, as well as with renowned foreign agencies. The library offers a vast collection of over 1.7 million photos online, covering subjects such as wildlife, natural habitats, natural phenomena, gardens, pets and environmental issues. In addition to photos, Biosphoto also offers a library of high-definition video clips. Biosphoto's iconographic team is made up of scientists specialising in biology and botany.
