This drama-art pole at the Conservatoire du Grand Avignon trains its students to the techniques of actor and theatre art in general. What is more natural in a city steeped in theatre culture which, besides holding its own annual theatre festival, has places highlighting this art like the Jean Vilar house or - on the other side of the Rhone - Villeneuve Chartreuse! The comprehensive teaching curriculum takes place in three cycles in four years: the introductory class, the learning of fundamental and the initial vocational education cycle (over two years). In favour of contemporary writings, teachers encourage students to live with the theatre of their time and stimulate their imagination and sensitivity. Please note that during the first three weeks of the festival the "Meetings of the Conservatory" are organised during which students can participate in workshops with French and foreign authors.
