MAISON DES VINS D'AVIGNON
Located in the Hotel du marquis de Rochegude superbly restored, the Wine House is above all a professional meeting place for the Rhodaniian AOC. It is home to their interprofession: Inter Rhône, which promotes Côtes du Rhône wines; the General Union of Winemakers of the Côtes du Rhône; the Union of Traders of the Rhône Valley. Their purpose? Set the rules for production of the controlled appellation of origin Côtes du Rhône but also improve market knowledge, help growers to carry out their activity). They are fully financed by winemakers and traders through contributions from the volumes of wine sold. It also hosts an exciting eco club, the Club Côtes du Rhône. The Maison des Vins is open to the public in July during the Avignon Festival, a wine bar open early in the evening.
