BIBLIOTHEQUE DE LA MAISON JEAN-VILAR
A place dedicated to the memory of Jean Vilar and the festival of Avignon, a mythical house just steps from the Clock Square, heart of the city, heart of the Festival of Avignon in and off. On the second floor, this decentralized antenna of the Department of Performing Arts of the National Library of France proposes a Choice of 30 000 Books (4 000 in free access in the reading room) and 250 titles of newspapers and journals on theatre, of course, but also dancing, opera, cinema, circus, clowns, music hall, varieties and festivals. Also, the library has a comprehensive documentation fund on the theatre and cultural life of Avignon and the region since 1979. In addition to searching articles by subject, place or personality, you can also consult the digital resources of the Bibliothèque Nationale de France. All of these valuable books, ideal for a thesis or a thesis, are only available on site. No loans but possibilities of photocopies. The video library is available free of charge by appointment; Video playback is also on site (many videos on the festival). For 6 days - from 20 to 26 March 2012 - Sète inaugurated the th Jean Vilar centennial.
