CHAPELLE DES PENITENTS BLANCS
Small chapel dating from 1715, built on a rectangular plan following the sinuosity of the street, now an exhibition space
This small chapel dates from 1715 and is also known as Chapelle Notre-Dame de Pitié. Built on a rectangular plan on the site of an earlier chapel, it follows the sinuosity of the street. Its single nave is lit by an open oculus above the door and a narrow bay on the right wall. A Virgin stands vigil at the entrance. For over a century, it was the headquarters of the Pénitents Blancs brotherhood, a religious order dedicated to charity. Today, it is an exhibition space for the association Les Amis de Brantes. Here you'll find walks to the northern slopes of the Ventoux, second-hand books and even cooking recipes!
