It is the second oldest French dam contained in the Global Registry of large dams. Once, the lock was used to feed the mills. It also allowed the irrigation of land and Figueres; Caromb was then a major market gardening area. Its discovery trails will make you enjoy flora and fauna. It is now a place that combines recreational activities. Even tournaments are organised there during fine weather. It is here that the inhabitants of the village come for a picnic and have... a nap.
