THE BANKS OF THE AUZON
Visit the banks of the Auzon river, and discover the Notre-dame-de-Santé votive chapel in Carpentras.
The park is the city's green lung. Access is via chemin de la Roseraie, chemin du Moulin des Vignes or avenue Notre-Dame de Santé. Along the water's edge, you'll discover the Notre-Dame-de-Santé votive chapel. Built in 1401, it is said to have sounded the end of the plague epidemic at 3 a.m. on July 10, 1629. Since then, the miracle has been celebrated with an annual mass. In the 18th century, the building was enlarged. There's also an open-air theater, a dam and the feed valve for the old tanneries.
