SCALLOP HILL
Chapel with contemporary stained glass windows made by Frédérique Duran, a master glass artist who lives in Gordes
The hill is part of the town in the 15th century, the inhabitants carved a staircase in the rock behind the tourist office. Each landing gives a different view of the town. The "Vallons et Pinèdes" walk has been laid out in the very heart of the hill; it runs for 3.6 km through a diverse Mediterranean landscape. Thrill-seekers will embark on the first city via ferrata in Europe. The 12th century chapel houses contemporary stained glass windows created by Frédérique Duran, a master glass artist who lives in Gordes.
