Water mill producing high quality paper using traditional century techniques

Vallis Clausa is the reconstruction of a water mill that produces high quality paper using traditional 15th century techniques. During the visit of the workshop, you will follow all the stages of production from the shredding of the fabrics to the drying process. The most impressive piece of equipment is the large paddle wheel with its 48 blades and a diameter of 7m. The paper is intended for the publication of art, prints and old engravings.

The village is magnificent, you walk on the steps of Petrarca... and the mill is very interesting to discover the paper-making old!
