More than 10,000 objects and documents tell the story of the daily life of the French during the Occupation, the Resistance in Vaucluse and freedom of spirit. Clandestine editions and military journals rub shoulders with manuscripts by René Char and original works by Henri Matisse or Joan Miro. The documentation and research centre adjoining the museum works on the last three major wars in the history of France. It is equipped with an art library.
