HERMITAGE OF SAINT PANCRAS

This hermitage is a lovely walk along the GR9 through Grambois.
This hermitage is a beautiful walk. You take the GR9 through Grambois, and at the same time remember that the hill has a religious history. The chapel - listed as a historic monument since March 1995, and celebrated by Jean Giono with all his verve - was built on the ruins of a Templar temple. It has been dedicated to Saint Pancras since the 14th century. A very popular place of devotion, it was enlarged in the 17th century with the construction of a hermitage and two side chapels.
