Restaurant with swimming pool and a nice kitchen offering wood-fired pizzas in La Tour-d'Aigues.
Chez Mamé is a no fuss address. We are in the countryside (2 minutes from the downtown La Tour d'Aigues) in olive grove and pine trees. In summer, cicadas chirp loudly, the swimming pool provides freshness and in winter the room is warm. Jeannette, know as Mame runs the kitchen. In her lovely kitchen, it always smells good, the dishes are prepared with fresh, local ingredients: roast veal with mushrooms, prawns with small salt pork and pineapples, tuna à la plancha, scallops with butter, stuffed lamb shanks with spring vegetables or duck breast, Aubrac steak... and even a burger to make it "urban trend", but it is straightforwardly Royal with a slice of pan-fried foie gras and fig chutney; the fries are homemade, let it be known! Obviously, when the sun shines with all its brilliance, we are willingly tempted by a beautiful colourful salad in which Mamé has some flowers to be tasted. And then, there are the highly priced wood fired pizzas, to take as an aperitif. The desserts are mostly elaborate on the spot.
