After walking up and down, admiring the beautiful facades, you reach the wash house leaning against a pretty fountain decorated with cast iron masks, dating from the 19th century, like all the fountains in Le Barroux. Fed by this same fountain, the wash-house has the particularity of being located on the ground floor of a house. At the time, the washhouses allowed the washerwomen to wash their clothes without dirtying the water in the fountains, which were reserved for men and animals.
