This majestic mountain is visited every year by thousands of cyclists who set off to conquer its steep roads.

1910 meters above sea level! Classified as a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO, as are 35 communes around the massif, the slopes of Mont Ventoux combine all climates, from Mediterranean to Alpine, constituting an extraordinary wealth of flora and fauna. For example, depending on the season and altitude, you can discoverDe Candolle's Iberis, which grows on the summit scree from June to August, the magnificent Greenland Poppy (in July), the all-too rare Martagon Lily on the northern flank at the end of summer, or Fabre's Nivéole, which is only found on the southern flank (it only flowers for a week in early May). A unique site, this majestic white pyramid, whipped by the winds two-thirds of the year, is surveyed by thousands of cyclists who set out to conquer its slopes, attempting to repeat the feats of the Tour de France climbers. Once at the summit, their efforts are amply rewarded: on a clear day, the "bald mountain" offers a panoramic view of Provence, from the Alps to the Mediterranean, as far as the Massif Central and the Cévennes. With 12 kilometers of downhill ski runs and 7 kilometers of Nordic ski runs, the Mont Serein resort offers the unique pleasure of skiing under the Midi sun! Ask at the Carpentras, Sault, Bédoin or Malaucène tourist offices about the various activities on offer for families in winter and summer alike.
