This private museum celebrates the corkscrew: over 1,200 unique pieces are on display, grouped by theme from the 17th century to the present day, from the first corkscrew to gold, ivory and silver objets d'art. The museum is located on the grounds of the Citadelle wine estate: an opportunity to visit the cellars, taste the wines and also discover the botanical garden where medicinal and aromatic plants, wild and edible plants and magical plants grow. The Musée du Tire-Bouchon is located on the Domaine de la Citadelle in Ménerbes, Luberon. It houses a collection of over 1,200 historical items from the 17th century to the present day. It features corkscrews from all over the world, some of them unique. Through theMuseum's 52 display cases, organized into 6 different categories, you'll discover the evolution and diversity of this simple tool, rich in history and curiosities. Simple or T-shaped, combined or multifunctional, decorative or figurative, precious, pocket-sized or miniature: the corkscrew hasinspired ingenuity and aestheticism throughout the ages.
