CHAPELLE SAINTE-MADELEINE
Chapel built by the monks of Saint-André de Villeneuve between 1165 and 1178 near the Mirabeau bridge and the Canterperdix gorge
Nestled near the Mirabeau bridge and the Canterperdix defile, the Sainte-Madeleine chapel was probably built by the monks of Saint-André de Villeneuve between 1165 and 1178. Sold during the French Revolution, the chapel became the property of the commune, serving as a warehouse for the ferry service and for the construction of the railroad. Listed in 1928, it was restored in 1948. From the Durance river, you'll have a magnificent view of this unique "perched" chapel.
