The Place de la Fontaine de Mirabeau is home to an architectural marvel. Comprising a circular basin and a square pillar, the fountain is adorned with spitting tritons, a cylindrical column and a ball-shaped pinnacle. The chalky water gushing from the newts generates moss which, as it hardens, gradually creates tuff, reproducing the appearance of a frozen lava flow. In 2018, the fountain welcomed a new resident: a bronze statue of Manon des Sources, immortalizing the famous character from the film of the same name. This statue, depicting Manon seated at the edge of the fountain, has become a must-see attraction for lovers of cinema and the beauty of the Luberon.
