A chapel of Romanesque origin, semi-troglodytic and long a place of pilgrimage, which only reveals itself to walkers in Monieux.
You will discover the Saint-Michel chapel (12th century) at the bottom of the Nesque gorges. Of Romanesque origin, semi-troglodytic is only revealed to walkers. Huddled under a shelter under the rock, occupied in prehistoric times, it was for a long time a place of pilgrimage. A nearby cave once housed a hermitage. Not far from there, archaeological excavations make it possible to affirm that the first hunters present in the Pays de Sault lived here 150,000 years before our era.
