It is believed that the church was built in the late th and early th centuries, at the location of a more ancient one. Its architecture is typically bourbonnais in a faire Romanesque style. Originally, the bell tower and arrow were in stone, but in 1804, following lightning, this boom collapsed, and then was replaced with a skirt structure, which still exists to date.
