CORENTIN TAVERNIER MARQUETRY WORKSHOP
Pernes-les-Fontaines lies south of Mont Ventoux, in the plain at the foot of the Monts du Vaucluse, between Carpentras and L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue. Its architectural heritage is remarkable, with ramparts, mansions and 41 working public fountains. The town has preserved its history and traditions, with some monuments converted into museums. Sites to visit include the clock tower, offering a breathtaking view over the Comtat, the Tour Ferrande with its 13th-century frescoes, the Maison Flechier, a museum of Comtadine traditions, and the Conservatoire du Costume Comtadin. Pernes-les-Fontaines has also held the "Ville et métiers d'arts" label since 1999, with numerous artisan workshops to discover, such as the Corentin Tavernier marquetry workshop, the "mécanique du temps" watchmaking workshop and the "SY Verre" glassmakers' workshop.
