FESTIVAL DES DYONISIES

The Dionysies were annual religious festivities dedicated to the god Dionysus in ancient Greece. During their celebrations, participants competed in tragic agons (public games where athletic struggles were held). This is very different in today's festival, which was created by Gilbert de Cesare and theatre enthusiasts. Every year, the Municipal Theatre of Pertuis, a small Italian-style theatre that encourages exchanges and conviviality, is the site of an amateur theatre festival that favours shows for the general public.
