GARDEN OF THE CASTLE OF VAL JOANIS
A remarkable garden on three terraces featuring Provencal vegetables, herbs, flowers, trees and rare species.
Designed in 1978 in the spirit of 18th-century gardens, the Jardin Remarquable is spread over three terraces. First, the old-fashioned kitchen garden planted with Provençal vegetables and aromatic herbs, then the flower garden with its symphony of colors and fragrances, and finally the area planted with trees and rare species. Access is via what's known as the "couloir à autruches", a paved path beneath an arbour overgrown with old roses, wisteria and honeysuckle.
